Dr. Mark Couts, O.D.
Dr. Mark Couts is a native of Knox, Indiana. He earned a B.S. degree in Biology at Indiana University in 1976. During his undergraduate career he received numerous awards for academic excellence. He began Optometry school at Indiana University in 1978, graduating with a Doctorate in 1982. Following graduation,
Dr. Couts served his country by practicing optometry in the United States Navy for three years at the Charleston Naval Hospital in Charleston, S.C. and spent another seven years in the Naval Reserve. He then moved to Culver in 1985 and began the private practice of optometry.
Dr. Couts is a member of the Indiana Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association, the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD), and the Optometric Extension Foundation and is BOARD CERTIFIED by the American Board of Optometry.
Dr. Couts did post graduate studies with the Optometric Extension Foundation and the Baltimore Academy of Behavioral Optometry where he was trained in developmental vision evaluation and optometric vision therapy techniques.
Linda is our office manager as well as a dispensing optician and a talented vision therapist. She received over 100 hours of training in optometric vision therapy through the Baltimore Academy of Behavioral Optometry. Her studies included areas in vision related learning problems, binocular vision dysfunctions, strabismus, and amblyopia.
Linda enjoys horseback riding and motorcycle trips with her husband of 30 years, Dr. Mark Couts.
